To start with a confession : this bit came as part of a collection and my first reaction was to dismiss it as some sort of gimmick

There is a crown shaped steel "gatepusher" on the top of the staghorn

The collar has a blank shield which could have been engraved

These round brass or bronze stirrups come from India
